Lisa Cowley likes to stay in shape and often goes for a run at the beach… we’d like to try and keep up with those long legs!

When and how did you get into modelling?

I started with modelling at the age of six when my dad took me with on a shoot and I was playing on the beach. The client said they would pay me if I’d continue playing in front of the camera.

What are the biggest misperceptions that people have of models?

The biggest misconception is that we never eat or exercise! I do both really well.

Best job you ever did?

Best job was for a local magazine and it was my first trip on my own (there were many conditions). I was 14 and it was a week in Brazil and a bonus week off school. I think I had my first crush ever there.

Worst pick up line ever?

There is something wrong with my cell phone. It doesn’t have your number in it!

What do you look for in a guy?

I look for a guy who is an intellectual, spiritual and makes me laugh.

What, in a guy, puts you off?

Hmmm….lets see. Oh thats easy. When you walk in on a guy in bed with another girl. Did I just say that out loud?

How do you handle all the attention you get from guys?

I will never get used to it, I think. I believe in treating everyone equally and try not to let my shyness overshadow a good moment. But it can be overwhelming sometimes.

What do you do to stay in shape?

Well, first thing every morning I get my gym clothes on and head to the gym or perhaps mix it up with a yoga class. I change my routine as often as possible, that way my body does not get accustomed to its challenges. I love the outdoors and fresh air is vital for me to feel truly alive, so I’ll often run along the Atlantic seaboard.

Describe your perfect night out?

My perfect night out would be…. believe it or not, a braai at my sister’s house so I can spend time with my nephews, family and friends and have good conversations with the people I care most about. And there is always dancing and occasionally we dress up (don’t ask).

Worst date you’ve ever been on?

The worst date I’ve been on was with an American director who made very little eye contact and answered every call from his cell phone. And get this, at the end he still wanted to try and steal a kiss. Some men have no clue.

Dinner and a movie. My best so far has been Willoughbeys sushi followed by Magic Mike. With who? My sister, of course.

Favourite movie?

Recently only saw Raging Bull which I loved, but I love all Oliver Stone and Quentin Tarantino’s movies.

Favourite book?

Kiedis’s Autobiography Scar Tissue.

Favourite car?

Oooh! Its a toss up between the Aston Martin Vanquish in matte black or Shelby GT 500.

Favourite food?

Sushi! Then Mexican

Have you read 50 Shades of Grey?

I haven’t read 50 Shades of Grey. Yet.

Ever been part of the mile high club?

With these long legs?? Aah… no.
